This was certainly a week for stepping outside of my comfort zone. There are only three folks on my team at work. Two of them were out this week. On Tuesday, I spend the day running around DC hobnobbing with our funders and partners. On Wednesday, I stood in for my boss to give a presentation to some high-ups at the CDC. On Thursday, I spoke with a reporter at the Boston Globe about a new infant mortality prevention initiative.
Laura, a senior program analyst with the National Association of County and City Health Officials, said the Boston program is unique.
“There are a lot of housing initiatives that are linked to some sort of social services, but this is the first time that we’ve heard of anything like this where the health department is so closely involved with the housing authority,’’ she said.
