It’s not secret that B and I consume a lot of media, especially television and movies. B was essentially a film major in college. I was a late bloomer in terms of film consumption and still have a lot of catching up to do. While we’ve both been a bit too busy to sit in from of our television lately, we’ve still managed to see a few movies in the past few weeks.
Rango is an animated western film about a chameleon who stumbles across a dusty town in need of a sheriff. I was surprised to like it as much as I did. And, the animation is beautiful.
Predators is a sci-fi movie about a group of humans being hunted by alien creatures. I’ve already talked about how much I love a good fight-to-save-humanity film. This one has the added benefit of Adrien Brody doing his best Jack Bauer impersonation.
The Town is another Ben Affleck Boston film. The movie is fantastic, but Jeremy Renner is the best part. I’m not just saying that because I think he’s a cutie. Also, how does Ben Affleck always find the perfect girl-next-door (see exhibit 1 and exhibit 2)?
And, because it always amuses me, here are our latest genre preferences, according to Netflix:
- violent suspenseful foreign movies
- critically acclaimed action and adventure
