Tonight, B and I made a white clam pizza. If you’ve never had one, you are really missing out! B and I were first introduced to this particular flavor at Pepe’s Pizzeria in New Haven, Connecticut, back in college. Pepe’s is arguably the best pizza in the nation. Seriously. If you ever find yourself on the East Coast, take a train to New Haven, head over to Wooster Square, and order the summer pie and white clam pizzas with white birch beer. If you still have room for dessert, walk down the street to Libby’s for dessert. It’s totally worth it.
We loosely followed this recipe from The Food Network. We used a frozen cornbread crust that we had on hand. We didn’t add oregano or arugula. It was no Pepe’s, but it hit the spot!
