put a bird on it

At a recent work event, I noticed a young woman around my age with the most amazing tattoo of a bird sitting on branches. A while back, B showed me a few sketches from Portlandia, an IFC series. This was one of the more amusing clips. After I stopped being judgmental, I realized I’d never seen anything like this tattoo. It looked like a print straight from a vintage Audubon Society book.

The woman received her tattoo from Esther at Butterfat Tattoo in Chicago. Esther is most interested in projects inspired by textiles, antique lace, Victorian scrap book imagery, vintage children’s book illustration, and object portraits. Unfortunately, she rarely takes new clients. Check out her portfolio and links. She’s really something special!
