This weekend, B and I had the opportunity to have a staycation at his cousins’ house in the Cherrydale neighborhood in Arlington, VA. While it is only ten minutes from where we live in the District, it seemed worlds away. I think the difference was really the space! We’re lucky to have a two-bedroom apartment, but our living quarters are still cramped.
We had supper and dessert at Tallula on Friday evening, followed by The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. We brunched at Lyon Park (the donut appetizer was nuts!) and saw Harry Potter in 3D at a nearby theater. That evening, we had supper at Minh’s with B’s parents and his mom’s best friend from college and her daughter. We stopped by Larry’s Ice Cream for dessert. I had green tea and coconut mango, but I would have ordered the lavender if I’d seen it in time!
The REAL reason we were housesitting was to keep his cousins’ cat company. Zeke is one of those short-haired cats that supposedly cause fewer allergic reactions. B has claimed to have a cat allergy for years, but I’m convinced he’ll come around to cats eventually!
